Croatia 2 (Perišić, 68. Mandžukić, 109) – 1 England (Trippier 5)
Sweden 0-2 England (Maguire 30, Dele 58)
England cruise to a historic win in their highest ever World Cup game with a stunning first half display against Panama. Scoring an incredible 5 goals in the first half with some fantastic play and even better set pieces. Harry Kane becoming only the third ever England player to score a hat trick in the tournament as well.
England 6 (Stones 8, 40. Kane 22, 45+1, 62. Lingard 36 ) -1 Panama (Baloy 78)
Argentina 0 – 3 Croatia (Rebic 53. Mordric, 80. Rakitic 90+1)
Tunisia 1 (Ferjani Sassi, 35) – 2 England (Harry Kane, 11 & 90+1)
Brazil (Coutinho, 20) 1 -1 Switzerland (Zuber, 50)
Who doesn’t love to watch Brazil when it comes to the World Cup? That was going to be no different this year especially with Neymar leading the line in a very talented side. The Swiss wanting to spoil the party and the method in which they did so was rather disappointing to be brutally honest as they took turns to kick Neymar from start to finish, which meant hardly any flow in the game at all.
Germany 0-1 Mexico (Hirving Lozano, 35)
A tight game with the power and strength of Serbia taking on the quick pace of Costa Rica in which both sides would create plenty of chances but fail to have the quality to convert them into goals.
Costa Rica 0 – 1 Serbia (Kolarov 59)
It is rather remarkable with this game how Peru did not manage to find the back of the net with the amount of chances they created and had from start to finish in the game, I think the missed penalty on half time pretty much made it looks like they were not going to score in this one! But they didn’t really test goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, most of the shots were straight at him and in the process he has broken his Dad’s clean-sheet minute record for Denmark.
Peru 0 – 1 Denmark (59, Poulson)
45+ 1 – Missed Penalty (Cueva)
Argentina 1 (Sergio Aguero, 19) – Iceland 1 (Alfred Finnbogason, 23)
Sergio Aguero’s first ever World Cup goal came in this game and you would be perfect fine in thinking that it would then be easy for Argentina to push on and score more right? Well, that is very wrong! Iceland have continued in fantastic fashion the form they demonstrated in Euro 2016. This made for a very interesting tactical match.
