Last game of the season fell at St James Park, seeing West Brom being the visiting team. Already safe for the premier league next season. The game started as everyone would expect it, not really much happening and that last game of the season feel to it. The final home game of the championship season was yesterday afternoon at St James Park. No one really cared about the game, we wanted the trophy at 5pm after the game. Just a shame the game was very dull and we drew 2-2 which kinda took the edge of it all a little, especially the long wait we had for the set up and presentation of the trophy and medals (or at least it felt like a long wait). So I won’t dwell on the match too much and just be happy it was the last home game of championship football and hopefully it will be a long time (if ever) that championship football returns to St James Park!
