My 5 Favourite England Songs!

Here are my 5 favourite songs for England when they head to the Euro’s or World Cup!

Three Lions (Football’s Coming Home)

I’ve had to include both versions of this song as they are both fantastic with the slight changes in lyrics for the 98 World Cup after it was originally used for Euro 96!

In the second warm up game prior to England heading to France for Euro 2016 they stopped at the Stadium of Light. Giving different players a chance to start the game and put in a claim for a role in the opening game of the European Championships or leaving everyone wondering how they are even in the squad to begin with?

Line up (subs)

Forster (Heaton), Clyne, Smalling (Dier), Stones, Bertrand, Wilshere (Milner), Drinkwater, Henderson, Sterling (Townsend), Rashford (Barkley), Lallana (Rooney)

Henderson and Carroll doing the North East Proud!

It’s been a long time since Newcastle and Sunderland both had player’s in the England squad let alone team. But that changed this week when Andy Carroll and Jordan Henderson both were called up to the full squad for the first time. They have both represented their country at youth levels and have had brilliant starts to the premiership season being key players for their respected hometown clubs.

England 2010/11 Home Kit

The new home England kit had a picture released earlier this week and was worn for the first time last night in the European Championship qualifier against Bulgaria which was won 4-0 by England with a hat trick from Jermain Defoe  and a first international goal from Adam Johnson. The picture released might be seen as quite controversial as it does not have a lot of big name players in.

Containing a couple of the senior squad and a mix of younger players. Very disappointing that they did not get a couple of the actual women players as well! The blue shorts and blue trimming on the shirts make it look different to the last home kit, but that is the main difference.

New England Away Shirt 2010/2012

The new England away shirt was released on Wednesday very much modelled and based on the 1966 World Cup winning red shirt. I really liked the shirt so bought it! I get my money back if England win the World Cup . . . so another reason to scream “come on England”.

But not only did I buy the away shirt. I also bought the home shirt which I did not get when it was first released. The reason I bought it was because it has “World Cup, 2010, South Africa” stitched on underneath the badge! I figured might as well get it now as when people find out you can get them they would sell out fast.

So lets hope come June the classic looking white and red England shirts are lifting the world cup.
