I did not care at all who won this game and was disappointed when Wayne Rooney started on the bench. I really do think he’s just unstoppable at the moment. I just wanted to see a good game of football and it wasn’t too bad at all. The main talking point is still that Vidic should have been sent off for the penalty given against him in the 5th minute with James Milner (Newcastle reject??!?!) slotting it home to put Villa ahead at Wembley. Another Newcastle reject popped up for Man Utd to equalise . . .that man being Michael Owen . . . who then went off injured. Can’t say I was unhappy to see him go off injured after the way he was at Newcastle. But that meant Rooney was coming on!
In the second half Rooney scored again with his head in what ended up to be the winning goal. Giving Sir Alex his millionth trophy (just a slight exgageration) and its still so funny to watch him as he still cannot celebrate. I was amused at being able to hear him sing glory glory Man Utd and still loving to win things. He is a massive inspiration for anyone, at any level playing/coaching/managing football.
How many more trophies will Sir Alex get his hands on this season? Premiership and Champions League? What do you think?
